More Information About the Project

About the Company

Rio Brasil Terminal builds on a well-established legacy of more than 26 years of operations at the Port of Rio de Janeiro, combining technical excellence with a global perspective on logistics. As part of the ICTSI Group (International Container Terminal Services, Inc.), which manages 32 terminals across 19 countries, the company handled more than 13 million TEUs in 2024, strengthening its position as one of the most important port operations in Latin America.

A pioneer in corporate sustainability, Rio Brasil Terminal became the first port terminal in Brazil to achieve Carbon Neutral certification and has maintained ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications since 2003. The company takes an integrated approach to its operations, combining technological innovation with a deep understanding of global logistics challenges.

Its team consists of highly qualified professionals equipped to operate one of the most efficient terminals in the country. As an organization, Rio Brasil Terminal requires every investment decision to deliver not only operational efficiency but also an environment that reflects its strength, sustainability vision, and commitment to the well-being and safety of its employees.

The Challenge

Expanding operations through the acquisition of 32 hectares at the Inhaúma Shipyard, as part of the ICTSI Group’s global investment of US$580 million, was about more than increasing logistics capacity. It was an opportunity to create a corporate environment that embodied Rio Brasil Terminal’s core values: operational excellence combined with sustainability, and positive growth aligned with human comfort.

The challenge was significant: to create a corporate workspace that would serve as a high-performance operational foundation to support the company’s growth, where focus, collaboration, and well-being go hand in hand. An environment that reflected the ICTSI Group’s quality standards, enhanced team productivity, and, above all, actively contributed to talent retention in a highly competitive industry.

The Vision: Productivity and Sustainability

The strategy behind this transformation needed to go beyond simply optimizing layouts. The vision was developed through a detailed understanding of how Rio Brasil Terminal’s professionals work, collaborate, and carry out their daily activities in a high-demand environment.

Every corporate area was designed with a clear purpose: dedicated focus zones for concentrated work, collaborative spaces that foster synergy between departments, and areas that promote well-being throughout the workday.

The vision was to create an environment where ergonomics, comfort, and well-being are not luxuries, but strategic foundations. A workplace where the quality of the physical environment directly contributes to productivity and helps reduce absenteeism caused by occupational injuries. An approach built on the understanding that professionals performing at their best, both physically and mentally, achieve better results and sustain excellence in port operations.

Bringing the Vision to Life: Pett Capellato

To fully bring this strategic vision to life, it was essential to partner with a company capable of delivering strategic product curation and a truly integrated service. Pett Capellato was selected as this partner, providing a complete range of corporate furniture solutions through its Solutions Hub.

This was far more than simply selecting furniture. It was a thoughtful and strategic curation process, in which every piece was chosen not only for its aesthetics and durability but, above all, for its functionality, ergonomics, and alignment with the company’s Carbon Neutral certification.

The chairs and armchairs were selected with particular attention to ergonomics, considering their direct impact on occupational health. Each chosen model provides proper support, adjustability, and comfort, enabling employees to maintain focus and productivity without compromising their posture, while actively helping to prevent work-related injuries.

The corporate furniture was designed to create functional environments that can adapt to future growth: workstations that encourage integrated teamwork, efficient storage solutions, and elements that define collaborative spaces. Dedicated logistics and certified installation procedures (NR 06, NR 12, and NR 18) ensured that implementation was carried out without disrupting terminal operations.

Pett Capellato’s strategic curation ensured that the project not only met technical and functional requirements but also reinforced the ICTSI Group’s visual identity and global values throughout every space. The result is a seamless harmony between corporate vision and exceptional execution, where every element works together to create a transformative workplace.

The Result: Well-Being, Comfort, and Excellence

The corporate environment at Rio Brasil Terminal brings a clear vision to life: a space where growth and sustainability coexist naturally, where sophistication and functionality complement each other, and where operational excellence and employee well-being go hand in hand.

Rio Brasil Terminal’s professionals now work in an environment that not only supports their performance but enhances it. The ergonomic quality of the chairs, the functionality of the furniture, and the intelligent use of space all work in synergy to create the ideal conditions for teams to perform at their best.

Stakeholders and visitors are welcomed into a space that conveys strength, efficiency, and a commitment to sustainability. An environment that inspires confidence and reflects, in every detail, the ICTSI Group’s dedication to positive growth.

We are truly pleased and proud to have successfully completed this project. We extend our sincere gratitude to Rio Brasil Terminal for placing its trust in our work and for the outstanding partnership throughout the entire process. We wish the company continued success in this new phase of expansion!

This project reaffirms Pett Capellato’s commitment to excellence in every delivery, further strengthening our position as a trusted strategic partner for high-end corporate projects, where well-being, comfort, and functionality are fundamental priorities.
